This is Lydia’s room, back before she was born and it was just ‘Baby J’s Nursery.’ When I was first planning it, I didn’t think it would be very girly – it’s mainly aqua and gray, right? Somehow the girliness took over, although it totally suits my daughter. As an almost two-year-old, pink is her favorite color and she loves animals. For the most part, it still looks the same now as it does in these pictures (aside from constant messes).
I made a lot of the things in this room – I converted the white chair to a rocker, then I built the ottoman using the legs that were supposed to go on the chair. I built the bookshelves, sewed the elephant pillow and crib skirt, made the giraffe artwork, and put custom knobs on the dresser. We did the painting, molding, and light fixture updates too. Overall, we spent very little on this room, and I was really happy with how it turned out.
She has her own ensuite bathroom too (lucky kid). We didn’t do much with that room, although I think the artwork helped her to become one of the youngest kids ever to learn the word narwhal 😉
